Skoda Kodiaq RS Bookings To Commence On June 22; Here’s Why The Hype

Skoda India will commence bookings for the upcoming Kodiaq RS on June 22, ahead of its launch in the following weeks. It will be brought to our shores via the CBU route, in limited numbers (50 units).

Skoda Kodiaq RS – Why The Hype?

The Kodiaq will be the first Skoda SUV in the country to get the RS treatment, with sporty cosmetic enhancements inside and out, alongside a high-tuned engine for more engaging performance. Here’s a look at all its traits in a brief: –

  • A premium 7-seater SUV, tuned for performance.
  • Gets a more powerful 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, tuned for strong acceleration and punchy mid-range. That said, it is claimed to produce 265PS of max power and 400Nm of peak torque, which is 60PS/80Nm more than the standard Kodiaq.
  • Comes with an all-wheel-drive system and is known for solid handling and high-speed stability.
  • It will also get upgraded braking hardware and most probably, an adaptive suspension system.
  • Additionally, it will also feature sportier visual enhancements in the form of blacked-out elements, aggressive-looking bumpers, larger 20-inch alloy wheels, sportier bucket seats with integrated headrests, red stitching, and, of course, the RS badging.

Skoda Kodiaq RS India launch

Official Statement

Commenting on the announcement, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “The RS badge carries over 50 years of global performance legacy and a fiercely loyal following in India since the Octavia RS arrived more than two decades ago. The latest Octavia RS, launched last year, sold out in just 20 minutes, highlighting its cult status among enthusiasts. Now, we’re taking that legacy forward with the Kodiaq RS, our first-ever seven-seater in India to wear the iconic RS badge and the quickest Škoda yet in the country. It blends performance, space, and 4×4 capability into a bold, unmistakable expression of our racing DNA.”

Expected Price

We expect Skoda to price the Kodiaq RS in the ballpark of Rs 50-55 lakh (ex-showroom).
