Skoda Epiq Compact Electric SUV Revealed

The production-spec Skoda Epiq has finally seen the light of day after being showcased as a concept two years ago. It is the brand’s smaller electric offering, slotted below the Elroq in Skoda’s global product lineup.

Skoda Epiq – Design and Dimensions

  • Following Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language, the Epiq looks well-balanced and has upright proportions.
  • Upfront, it features a blacked-out, closed-off grille with “SKODA” lettering on top of it.
  • Flanking the grille are angled L-shaped DRLs, while the main headlamps are positioned just below them with a black strip connecting them.
  • The EV features bold, chunkier bumpers at both ends, with eight vertical slats and a silver skid plate.
  • On the sides, it sports subtle body cladding and aero-optimised alloy wheels sized from 17 to 19 inches.
  • It also features black roof rails, “SKODA” lettering on the C-pillars, and a gently slanting roofline.
  • Built in collaboration with Volkswagen (sharing the same MEB+ platform as ID Polo), the Skoda Epiq is roughly 4.1 meters in length, with a relatively long wheelbase of 2600mm, which translates to generous space inside the cabin. Its boot space is rated at 475 litres. Additionally, it also gets a 25-litre frunk.

Skoda Epiq – Interior and Features

  • Inside, the Epiq has a clean, modern-looking, minimalistic dashboard design, with a free-standing 13-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment taking the centre stage, while an ambient lighting strip runs across the dashboard door pads.
  • Depending on the variant, the Epiq is available with different colour schemes, such as grey, mint green and brown.
  • The other notable bits include a 2-spoke steering wheel, a small digital driver’s display, and a good amount of physical controls below the central AC vents.
  • For creature comforts, the Epiq is kitted with amenities like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-speaker Canton sound system, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functionalities, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS suite.

  • The 38.5 kWh battery pack version comes in two states of tune – 116PS and 135Nm, while the torque output (267Nm) is the same for both.
  • On the other hand, the 55kWh version is rated at 211PS and 290Nm.
  • Skoda asserts 310km range for the 38.5kWh battery and 440km for the 55kWh unit on a single charge.
