2026 Skoda Kushaq Facelift Likely To Get Rear Massage Function

The Skoda Kushaq facelift, likely to be launched in early 2026, is going to get substantial feature upgrades over the existing model. Among them will be the segment-first rear seat massage function. This will not only enhance the overall comfort level for the rear occupants, but also up the ante in the segment.

Previous spy shots also confirm a panoramic sunroof for higher variants of the SUV. It is also expected to get a revised user interface & graphics for the infotainment and instrument cluster, along with multi-colour ambient lighting, rear window sunshades, improved audio system, 360-degree camera, front & rear parking sensors, and a level-2 ADAS suite.

Skoda is also expected to address the ongoing issues with the SUV, including the weak AC performance and the subpar material quality of some parts. The brand may also introduce soft-touch finishes on select sections of the dashboard.

Revised Exterior

Changes will be minimal on the outside in the form of a redone front grille, updated lighting system, new alloys and redesigned bumpers at both ends.

Engine and Gearbox Options

Skoda is unlikely to make any changes under the hood. It will continue to be offered with the existing 1-litre TSI (115PS/178Nm) and 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine (150PS/250Nm) options. The latter also benefits from the brand’s Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) that shuts off two out of four cylinders in low load conditions to maximise the fuel efficiency.

Transmission options are also likely to remain unchanged. For reference, the smaller 1-litre unit comes with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter units, while the larger displacement 1.5-litre mill gets a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Competition Check

The forthcoming updates will strengthen Kushaq’s position in the hotly congested mid-size SUV segment, which comprises models like the Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Victoris and Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, and soon-to-be-updated Kia Seltos.
