Honda Shine 100DX, CB125 Hornet Revealed, Bookings Open In August

Honda 2-wheelers India has expanded its entry-level motorcycle lineup with the unveiling of two new bikes: Shine 100DX and CB125 Hornet. Bookings for both bikes will start from 1st August 2025, with deliveries to follow in the coming weeks in a phased manner.

Let’s quickly delve into all the necessary details of the new Honda Shine 100DX and CB125 Hornet that you need to know about before their launch: –

Honda Shine 100DX

Honda CB125 Hornet

  • Positioned above the SP125 in Honda’s portfolio.
  • The new CB125 Hornet has a striking and aggressive design that reflects its sporty DNA.
  • Its muscular fuel tank, edgy LED headlamp with LED position lamps, and sporty stand with sharp body lines give it a commanding road presence. Furthermore, the gold-finished upside-down fork (USD) in the front and colour alloys elevate its overall appearance, making it stand out in the naked bike segment.
  • The other key design highlights include key on tank, split seat & grab rail setup, sporty graphics, engine protection guard, and aluminium pillion footrest.
  • Targeting the young audience, Honda has equipped the bike with features such as a USB Type-C charging port, an all-LED lighting system, a 4.2-inch coloured TFT cluster with Honda RoadSync connectivity support, a real-time mileage indicator, average mileage readouts, and distance-to-empty.
  • For anchoring duties, the bike gets a petal disc upfront and a drum at the rear, assisted by a single-channel ABS.
  • It will be available in four youthful colours: Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Black, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red.
  • While engine details are yet to be revealed, Honda has claimed that the bike can do the 0 to 60 kmph sprint in just 5.6 seconds, making it one of the fastest bikes in its category.
  • Once launched, the new CB125 Hornet will face competition from the Bajaj Pulsar NS125, which currently ranges between Rs 99,994 and Rs 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda Shine 100DX

  • The new Shine 100DX strengthens Honda’s position in the 100cc space.
  • Despite the design of the Shine 100DX being identical to the Shine 100, it sports a distinct visual identity with vibrant body graphics, chrome highlights and new modern-day features.
  • Having said that, the Shine 100DX features sporty decals, styling chrome plating above the headlamp and a digital speedometer.
  • While the technical specifications are still under wraps, we expect it will get the same 98.98cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Honda Shine 100, which produces 7.3PS and 8.04Nm. It comes coupled with a 4-speed gearbox.
  • Honda has offered it in four colours: Black, Red, Blue, and Gray.
  • It will lock horns with the Hero HF Deluxe Pro, Bajaj Platina and TVS Sport.
