Honda Reduces Battery Subscription Prices For Activa Electric

Honda India has lowered the monthly cost of its battery subscription plan for the Activa Electric (Activa e:) by introducing a new plan called “Lite”. This new plan from Honda Pack Energy India starts at Rs 678 per month (+18% GST), significantly lower than the base plan of Rs 1,999 per month (+18% GST), marking a 66% reduction in the subscription price.

Under the Lite plan, subscribers are entitled to 12 free battery swaps per month, equivalent to 6 full swaps, as the Activa e: is equipped with two battery packs. Once the monthly quota is exhausted, users will be charged Rs 180 per additional full swap, effectively Rs 90 per battery. Based on this limit, the Lite plan is designed for a daily running of around 20 kilometres, or a monthly total of 600 kilometres—half of the 40 kilometres of daily usage allowed under the Basic plan.

This new plan is clearly aimed at lower-mileage users, making the Activa Electric more accessible to urban commuters with limited daily travel needs, while also offering a more flexible and cost-effective alternative to the standard subscription.

Although the brand hasn’t officially revealed the reason behind this move, the low market demand is likely a key factor. For reference, Honda sold only 106 units of the Activa e in March 2025 and just 32 in April 2025 (as per SIAM’s website). Do note that it is currently sold only in select cities, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The major limitation of the Active e: is that it cannot be charged at home as it doesn’t have a charging point. This makes users entirely dependent on Honda’s swapping network. Additionally, it is priced very high compared to its rivals. It is available in two variants: Standard and RoadSync Duo, priced at Rs 1.17 lakh and Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda offers the Activa e: with two removable battery packs (referred to as Mobile Power Packs), each rated at 1.5 kWh. Here’s a look at its specifications: –
