2025 Honda CBR650R And CB650R Launched In India

The 2025 Honda CB650R and CBR650R have been launched in India, priced at Rs 9,60,000 and Rs 10,40,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Both the models come equipped with Honda’s e-clutch technology.

Powering the 2025 Honda CB650R and CBR650R is the same 649cc, inline-four engine that generates 95.17PS of max power and 63Nm of peak torque and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Both the bikes also benefits from Honda’ e-clutch technology that enables the riders to shift the gearbox without operating the clutch lever. This is a convenient feature, especially in stop-go traffic or during aggresive riding, as it reduces fatigue and makes the ride more seamless.

This tech functions somewhat like the iMT (intelligent manual transmission) seen in some Kia and Hyundai cars, where the car still has a manual gearbox, but the clutch is operated electronically without driver input. Similarly, Honda’s E-Clutch automates the clutch operation electronically, giving the feel of a manual but with added ease and comfort.

The other notable features of these bikes include a 5-inch TFT coloured instrument cluster with Bluetooth-based smartphone connectivity support (Honda RoadSync), call/SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation support, traction control, and a slip-&-assist clutch.

Speaking of the underpinnings, the 2025 CB650R and CBR650R share the same underpinnings, comprising 41mm Showa inverted fork upfront and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability. For braking, both these motorcycles get a 31mm twin front and 240mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Honda offers the CBR650R in Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic, while the CB650R comes in Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic shades.

The CBR650R directly takes on the likes of the Triumph Daytona 660 and Suzuki GSX-8R, while the CB650R locks horns with the Triumph Trident 660.

Gaadify’s Take

The introduction of Honda’s e-clutch technology on the CB650R and CBR650R is a smart step forward in enhancing everyday rideability without compromising the essence of manual control. For riders who enjoy the feel of a geared motorcyle but dread clutch fatigue in traffic, this innovation strikes a great balance.
