Royal Enfield Scram 440 Revealed At Motoverse 2024; Launch In January 2025

Royal Enfield has finally taken the wraps off from Scram 440 at Motoverse 2024. The bike is based on the Scram 411 and gets a larger displacement engine. It is expected to be launched in January 2025.

Royal Enfield Scram 440 launch date

Design-wise, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 looks similar to the Scram 411. However, minor changes have been made to make it a more premium and mature offering. Having said that, the new bike features LED headlamps and new funky colours, namely Force Blue, Force Grey, Force Teal, Trail Green, and Trail Blue. However, the key change is at the heart of the bike. It features a 443cc, single-cylinder, air-oil cooled engine producing 25.4PS at 6250rpm and 34Nm at 4,000rpm. It also gets a bigger 6-speed gearbox instead of the Scram 411โ€™s 5-speed unit. The company also claims that it has made efforts to reduce clutch efforts.

Besides the mechanical changes, the chassis of the bike has also been strengthened in certain areas. It can now also carry a top box. With all these changes, the dry weight of the bike has gone up by 2kg (tipping at 187kg).

Royal Enfield Scram 440 specs

Speaking of the underpinnings, the ground clearance and seat height are the same as the Scram 411 at 200mm and 795mm, respectively. The suspension setup also remains unchanged โ€“ a 41mm telescopic fork with 190mm travel and a monoshock with 180mm travel. For braking, it gets a 300mm front and a 240mm rear disc, with a switchable dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS).

Royal Enfield will offer the Scram 440 in two variants โ€“ Trail and Force. While the former will get spoked wheels, the latter will feature alloys and tubeless tyres.

We expect the upcoming Scram 440 to command a slight premium over the Scram 411, which is priced from Rs 2.06 lakh to Rs 2.12 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to rival the likes of Triumph Scrambler 400X and Yezdi Scrambler.
