2024 New Maruti Dzire – What’s New?
The new Dzire has undergone significant design changes, gained new features and received a new powertrain. Bookings are already underway.
Exterior Design and Dimensions
With the new-gen Dzire, Maruti Suzuki has attempted to distinguish it from the new Swift. The 2024 Dzire now features a completely refreshed facia, featuring new Audi-esque headlamps called Crystal Vision Headlamps, flanking a redesigned grille with horizontal slats. The upgraded sedan also features more contoured surfaces, subtly rising shoulder lines, new dual-tone alloys, and 3D Trinity LED elements in taillights.
Dimensionally, the new Dzire is nearly identical to the outgoing model, measuring 3,995mm in length, 1,735mm in width and 1,525mm in height (increased by 10mm), with a wheelbase of 2,450mm and a ground clearance of 163mm. Its boot capacity stands at 382 litres.
Interior and New Features
While the exterior of the Dzire is completely distinct from the new Swift, the interior layout is identical. However, it features a distinctive black and beige colour scheme with faux wooden and silver inserts providing it a premium appeal. Regarding features, the 4th-gen Dzire receives the following additions over the previous model: –
- Single-pane electric sunroof (segment-first)
- 360-degree camera (segment-first)
- A 9-inch Smartplay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment
- Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto
- Wireless smartphone charger
- type-C charging port
- Standard 6 airbags
Features like automatic headlamps, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, coloured MID, auto AC, rear AC vents, rear centre armrest, etc. continue to be on offer. Features like auto-dimming IRVM and front armrest are big miss.
Robust Safety
With the generational change, the carmaker has also improved the safety quotient of the sedan by strengthening the overall structure and making safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, rear defogger, 3-point seat belt for all seats, ISOFIX anchors, etc, standard across the variant lineup. With this, the new Dzire has scored a 5-star safety rating in the latest Global NCAP crash tests.
New Powertrain
Powering the new Dzire is the same Z-Series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine as the new Swift that comes with an idle start/stop function. It makes 82hp/112Nm and comes with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. It can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
While the power figures don’t appear very promising, it claims to offer the highest fuel efficiency in its segment, making it the most frugal sedan of its segment.
New Dzire | Fuel Efficiency |
Petrol-MT | 24.79 kmpl |
Petrol-AMT | 25.71 kmpl |
CNG | 33.73 kmpl |
