The Citroen C3 cross-hatch is now finally available with an automatic transmission in the fully loaded Shine variant. It has been priced at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Citroen C3 Automatic commands a premium of up to Rs 85,000 over its manual counterpart. Interestingly, the Shine automatic trim is also available in a monotone finish, which isn’t an option with the turbo-petrol manual version.

Citroen C3 Automatic: Transmission Type Explained
Citroen offers the C3’s 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine (110PS/205Nm) with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which provides smooth & effortless gear shifts compared to the AMT units available with most of its rivals. This transmission setup enhances fuel efficiency and delivers better torque for a more responsive drive, making it ideal for both city and highway conditions.
The C3 also has a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine on offer, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Features Onboard
Citroen has recently upgraded the features list of the C3, making it a more mature offering than before. Having said that, it now comes loaded with features like LED projector headlamps, automatic AC, a 7-inch digital cluster, power adjustable & foldable side mirrors, rear wiper & washer, a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, electronic stability control, a hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), six airbags, and a rear parking camera with sensors.

The addition of an automatic transmission in the Citroen C3 is a great upgrade, making it a more complete package. Since it features a more advanced torque converter instead of the simpler AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) found in similarly priced competitors, it will offer smoother gear shifts and a more refined driving experience. This gives the C3 an edge in terms of comfort and performance, especially for those who drive in city traffic or on long highway journeys.
