The price of the Jeep Compass entry-level Sport diesel variant has been slashed by Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom), making the SUV start from Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, other variants have received a price hike of Rs 14,000.

- Jeep India hasn’t mentioned prices for the Longitude (O) and Limited (O) 4X4 trims, suggesting they have been discontinued from the Compass’ variant lineup.
- Aside from the price revision and variant rejig, the Jeep Compass premium mid-size SUV remains unchanged.
Powertrain
The Jeep Compass comes equipped with a 2-litre turbocharged diesel engine delivering 170PS and 350Nm. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The company offers it with both front-wheel (4×2) and four-wheel (4×4) drivetrains. However, the 4×4 option is restricted to automatic variants only.
Intially, the Jeep Compass was offered with a petrol engine option, but it was discontinued following the implementation of the BS6 Phase-II emission norms.

Competition Check
In the Indian market, the Jeep Compass faces competition from the Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross and select variants of the Tata Harrier.
