Kia Recalls Over 4,300 Units Of The Seltos Petrol In India

Kia India has announced a recall for over 4358 units of the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol-CVT variants of the Seltos, manufactured between February 28 and July 13, 2023. The recall aims to address a potential issue with the electronic oil pump controller, which could affect the performance of the SUV in the specified transmission variant.

Kia dealerships will soon start reaching out to the concerned owners of the Seltos to update them about the recall and replace the affected part free of cost.

What Is An Eelectronic Oil Pump Controller?

The electronic oil pump controller in a car is a component responsible for regulating the flow of oil within the engine. It ensures that the engine receives adequate lubrication at all times, which is crucial for its proper functioning and longevity. Additionally, the electronic control aspect allows for precise adjustment of oil flow based on various factors such as engine speed, temperature, and load conditions, optimizing performance and efficiency.
