Triumph Scrambler 400 X Launched At Rs 2.63 Lakh

The much-awaited Triumph Scrambler 400 X has finally been launched in India at Rs 2,62,996 (ex-showroom Delhi), commanding a premium of roughly Rs 30,000 over the Speed 400. It can be booked at Rs 10,000 on Triumph’s website.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X – What It Is?

Based on the Triumph Speed 400, the Scrambler is essentially an off-road capable version of the former, developed in association with Bajaj Auto. However, the Scram version features some distinct characteristics that set it apart from its roadster counterpart. These include: –

  • A seat height of 835mm – 45mm more than the Speed 400
  • A ground clearance of 195mm – 25mm more than the Speed 400
  • Rake angle of 23.2 º – Speed has of 24.6 º
  • A wheelbase of 1418mm – 41mm longer than the Speed 400
  • Kerb weight of 185kg – 9kg more than the Speed 400
  • Switchable ABS and Traction Control – Speed 400 misses out on switchable ABS
  • Larger 19-inch front wheel
  • 150mm of wheel travel at both ends (Speed 400 has a shorter suspension travel of 140mm upfront and 130mm at the rear)
  • 100/90-19 front and 140/80-17 rear tyre setup with spoke wheels
  • A larger 320mm front brake – 20mm bigger than Speed 400.

  • Design-wise, both bikes look largely the same; however, the Scrambler 400X further gets body graphics, a headlight grille, knuckle guards, a padded handlebar brace, split seat, an optional raised fender, and double-stacked exhausts.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X – Colours

  • The Scrambler 400 X is available in three colour options: Matt Khaki Green and Fusion White, Carnival Red and Phantom Black, and Phantom Black and Silver.

What Powers The Triumph Scrambler 400 X?

At the heart of the Scrambler 400 X is the same 398cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine as the Triumph Speed 400 that churns out 40PS power at 8,0000 rpm and 37.5Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm.

This Triumph off-roader will lock horns with the Royal Enfield Scram 411, Yezdi Scrambler and the upcoming new-gen Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.
