Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Truck Teased; Debut Next Month In South Africa

Mahindra & Mahindra has teased its upcoming Scorpio N-based pickup truck that will make its debut on August 15 in South Africa. Its product version is likely to hit the market in early 2025.

Hereโ€™s what to expect from this upcoming Mahindra pickup truck: โ€“

  • Mahindra is yet to reveal the product name; however, it has been codenamed Z121 for internal use. Its final name is expected to use Pik Up moniker.
  • The upcoming Mahindra pickup is likely to share its platform with the Scorpio N but with a more elongated wheelbase to house a larger loading bed.
  • Expect it to be offered in both single and double-cab body styles and a regular as well as a tray-back bed.
  • It will be a global product that is expected to be launched in Australia as well.
  • While the technical details are under wraps, it is likely to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.
  • It is anticipated to get Scorpio Nโ€™s 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, with both manual and torque converter automatic transmission options.
  • Choices of both RWD or 4WD drivetrains are likely to be given.

In other news, Mahindra is also gearing up to expand its electric vehicle lineup. The SUVmaker will introduce two new EV sub-brands โ€“ XUV and BE, under which XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09 will be launched by 2027.

Among these, the Mahindra XUVe.8, which is essentially an electric version of the XUV700 SUV, is anticipated to be the first electric vehicle to be available for purchase in December 2024. Click here for more details.
