Tata Harrier Reaches 1 Lakh Sales Milestone

Launched in 2019, Tata Harrier has achieved a new landmark by crossing 1 lakh unit sales. This accomplishment is particularly remarkable considering the carโ€™s price of over Rs 25 lakh (on-road).

The high popularity of the Harrier is due to its attractive design and the premium SUV experience it provides at a relatively affordable price point compared to its rivals in the market.

On this significant sales milestone, letโ€™s explore some fascinating facts about the Tata Harrier that you should know: โ€“

  1. The Tata Harrier draws its name from the strong and agile harrier bird.
  2. Tata has underpinned the Harrier SUV on the OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) platform, which is derived from the well-known Land Rover D8 platform. Before the introduction of the OMEGA architecture, Tata SUVs primarily followed a body-on-frame construction approach, where the body and vehicle frame were separate entities.
  3. Tata has borrowed its 170PS 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine from Fiat, while the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission has been sourced from Hyundai Motors.
  4. The Harrier and its three-row version, the Safari, are the first Tata SUVs to get an ADAS safety suite.
