Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 Spotted Completely Undisguised

The all-new Royal Enfiled Scrambler 650 has been spied testing once again, and this time we get clearer images of the upcoming motorcycle. Here’s what all it packs: –

  • At first glance, the bike will remind you of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
  • It features a round LED headlamp, taillamp, side mirrors and rearview mirrors, complemented by a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with knee braces for added comfort and a sporty look.
  • The test mule also has a flyscreen and a headlamp grille, which could be part of the GMA (Genuine Motorcycle Accessories).

  • Keen eyes could also notice an auxiliary light under the front indicators. However, it is unlikely to make to the production model. Or, the brand could also offer it as an official accessory. If this happens, this will be the first for Royal Enfield to roll out an additional lighting system.
  • There’s also a monopod instrument cluster, which seems to be borrowed from the Super Meteor 650. However, it misses out on the navigation pod, which could be offered as an optional fitment.
  • While the bike also misses the typical scrambler-type elements, it gets the ribbed seat for counted aesthetics.

  • Powering the upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler will be the same 648cc, air-oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine as the Super Meteor and RE 650 Twins that makes 47PS and 52Nm. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox, assisted by a slipper clutch.
  • Unlike its elder siblings, the Scrambler 650 will only get a single exhaust/tailpipe.
  • The underpinnings of the bike will include USD forks at the front and pre-load adjustable twin-shock absorbers at the rear.
  • Anchoring will be taken care of by disc brakes at both ends, aided by a dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS).
  • Will it get the switchable ABS? Well, it’s not clear at this moment.
New Royal Enfield Scrambler 650
  • Going by the spy images, the bike will get spoke wheels, wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. Optional alloy wheels could also be on the cards.
  • Expect Royal Enfield to launch the Scrambler 650 by mid-2023, with prices likely to start from Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • Aside from the Scrambler 650, Royal Enfiled will also launch various other motorcycles on its 450cc and 650cc platforms in the coming months/years, including the Shotgun 650, Classic 650, Bullet 650, Himalayan 650, and a sportier version of the Continental GT 650. Click here for more details.
