TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Special Edition Launched At Rs 1.3 Lakh

TVS Motor Company has launched a new Special Edition variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V in India at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 1500 more expensive than its BT Disc variant. It gets some cosmetic as well as some mechanical upgrades.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Special Edition – What’s New?

  • The new Special Edition variant of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V gets a new Bullpup exhaust system that is around 1 kg lighter than the stock unit, thus improving the power-to-weight ratio of the bike. It is also said to deliver a sportier exhaust sound.
  • The bike also receives the segment’s first adjustable clutch and brake levers for added convenience.
  • As for visual changes, the new Apache RTR 160 4V Special Edition will be available in a new Pearl White colour scheme with red accents on the seat, fuel tank and rear alloy wheels.

Are there any other changes?

Apart from the changes mentioned above, the new special edition Apache RTR 160 remains identical to the standard model. That said, it continues to get the same 159.7cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 17.30PS of maximum power at 9,250rpm and 14.73Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and unfortunately, this doesn’t get the slipper clutch found on the Apache RTR 165 RP. Features like a dual-channel ABS system, digital instrument cluster, and riding modes have also been carried forward from the regular model.

In the Indian market, the Apache RTR 160 4V takes on the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar N160, Hero Xtreme 160R and the Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ-FI.
