New Toyota Innova Hycross To Get Panoramic Sunroof, Design Revealed

Toyota has been working on the all-new Innova Hycross MPV for some time now, with test mules being spied on numerous times but under hefty camouflage. Now, we’ve got a much more detailed look at the upcoming Innova thanks to the leaked CAD design.

As you can see from the image, the Toyota Innova Hycross adopts a similar design to its global SUV and crossover lineup, featuring a large trapezoidal grille, flanked by wraparound headlamps. Furthermore, the grille is embellished with contrasting black trim. There are also large triangular housings for fog lamps on the front bumper.

The side profile of the Innova Hycross remains largely unchanged from the ongoing Innova Crysta, except for the reworked rear quarter glass panel. It is also likely to receive a differently designed alloy wheel. However, the most notable addition can be seen in the form of a panoramic sunroof.

While we’re yet to get a clear look inside, we expect a differently designed dashboard from the Innova Crysta, accommodating a large free-floating touchscreen infotainment system. It could also get a digitised driver’s cluster, a premium sound system, ventilated front seats, a heads-up display, a wireless smartphone charger, up to six airbags, and most importantly the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite, packed with active safety features like Proactive Driving Assist, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist, and Lane Departure Assist, etc.

Dimension-wise, the upcoming Innova Hycross will be roughly 4.7 meters long with a wheelbase of around 2,850mm, making it slightly longer than the ongoing Innova Crysta. Also, it is likely to be underpinned on a monocoque platform instead of the ladder-on-frame chassis.

New Innova Hycross hybrid

Under the hood, the Toyota Innova Hycross is likely to equip a 2.0-litre petrol engine, paired with a self-charging strong-hybrid system that will drive the front wheels of the people mover.

Expect Toyota to launch the Innova Hycross in early 2023 in India. However, it’s global unveil will take place in the coming weeks.
