Kia Sonet X-Line Edition Launched At Rs 13.39 Lakh

Kia India has launched the Sonet X-Line Edition in India at a starting price of Rs 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the GTX+ variant it is based on.

Kia Sonet X-Line – What’s Special?

The Kia Sonet X-Line Edition gets a host of cosmetic enhancements over its standard model. For beginners, it comes wrapped in an exclusive Matte Graphite body shade, making it the first car in its category to own this. The SUV also features a gloss black grille with a piano black diamond knurling pattern. The front & rear skid plates also come finished in piano black with a dark hyper metal accent. Additionally, the new crystal-cut 16-inch high black gloss alloy wheels and dark chrome fog lamp garnish elevate the car’s overall look.

Kia Sonet X-Line Interior

Open the doors of the car and you will be greeted by Xclusive Splendid Sage dual-tone interior scheme that adds a luxurious touch to its cabin. It also receives a premium black headliner, leatherette seats with orange stitching, and X-Line logo.

Features list of the Kia Sonet X-Line is similar to its donor variant that majorly includes a 10.25-inch infotainment system with connected car tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7-speaker Bose premium sound system, wireless smartphone charging, paddle shifters, a single-pane electric sunroof, auto climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, in-built air purifier, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), front & rear parking sensors, vehicle stability management, rear camera and much more.

Powertrain

Mechanically, the Kia Sonet X-Line can be had with either a 120PS/172Nm 1.0-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol or a 115PS/250Nm 1.5-liter CRDi VGT diesel engine, paired with an automatic transmission only. That said, the petrol mill comes mated to a 7-speed DCT, whereas the oil-burner gets a 6-speed torque converter AT.

Author’s Take

The addition of the Kia Sonet X-Line variant makes it the right candidate against the Tata Nexon Dark Edition. However, tuning the driving dynamics would have made it a perfect alternative to the upcoming Hyundai Venue N-Line as well.
