Over 1 Lakh Mahindra Scorpio N Booked Within 30 Mins; Deliveries To Start From Sep 26

  • The first batch of 25,000 units was sold within 1 minute.
  • Bookings for the SUV will continue to be accepted online and at dealerships at Rs 21,000.
  • Deliveries to start from September 26.
  • Z8L variant will be prioritized in deliveries.

Official bookings for the all-new Mahindra Scorpio N began at 11 AM on July 30, and within 30 minutes, the SUV received over 1 lakh bookings. Interestingly, the first batch of 25,000 units was sold in just one minute from the commencement of bookings.

Mahindra Scorpio N Bookings & Deliveries – Things to note

– Mahindra is planning to deliver around 20,000 units of the Scorpio N by December this year, with the range-topping Z8L variant will be prioritized. Also, the SUVmaker will start communicating with customers about their delivery date by the end of August 2022.

– As per the official statement, the high traffic also caused the booking portal to crash, resulting in a glitch in the payment gateway. However, Mahindra has confirmed that the customer’s time stamp is recorded on the booking platform, so each customer will be correctly placed in the order sequence, and the first 25,000 customers will be eligible for introductory prices that range from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 23.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

– All subsequent orders will be sold as per the prices prevalent at the time of delivery, which will be much higher than the starting prices. We expect a premium of up to Rs 50,000 over the first lot prices.

– Buyers who have reserved the SUV have a 15 days period to modify or alter their bookings.

Author’s Note

It is no secret that the Mahindra Scorpio has a thorny following in the Indian market, so it is easy to assume that prospective buyers were eager to secure their new Scorpio as soon as possible. In fact, Mahindra even gave buyers the option of saving their order configuration on its online portal a few days before bookings opened. However, this overwhelmed customer response can lead to high waiting periods. For reference, the XUV700 has also received 1.5 lakh bookings since its launch on 15 August last year, and currently, it’s over 80,000 orders are awaiting deliveries.
