Citroen is all set to fully reveal its second offering for the Indian market, the C3 cross hatch, in the upcoming days. While the brand has already taken the wraps off its design via official images, we’ve now got to know about its engine options. It will come with two gasoline mills: 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and a more powerful turbocharged unit. Here’s a look at their specifications: –

As the above table indicates, the India-bound Citroen C3 will get the same set of engine options as its European counterpart. And so, its naturally aspirated engine is likely to offer a peak torque of around 118Nm, whereas the turbocharged motor could deliver 205Nm of maximum twist force. A 5-speed manual gearbox will likely be offered as standard, along with an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with the turbo engine only.

The Citroen C3 will be based on the Group PSA’s Common Modular Platform (CMP). Dimensions-wise, it will be 3,980mm long, 1733mm wide, and 1586mm tall, and will possess a wheelbase of 2,540mm and a ground clearance of 180mm. That said, it has a 40mm and 95mm longer wheelbase than the Nissan Magnite and Tata Punch, respectively.

Speaking of the storage spaces, the C3 will offer 315-liters of boot space along with multiple storage compartments across the cabin.

Design-wise, the C3 has a crossover-like silhouette and shares lots of design cues with its elder sibling, the Citroen C5 Aircross. It features the brand’s traditional chrome line grille up front combined with the V-shaped split lighting setup. There’s also the body cladding all around which increases its ruggedness, while the dual-tone bumpers, floating roofline, and sharper bonnet line provide it a dynamic appearance. Citroen will also offer lots of customization options with the car.

Inside, the C3 will get an all-black dashboard layout with contrasting color elements (customizable) and quirky-shaped AC vents. Features highlights will include a 10-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, along with a mobile clamp, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a manual AC system, steering-mounted controls, a digital instrument cluster, integrated headrests for the front & rear bench seats, multiple airbags, and much more.

Unofficial bookings for the Citroen C3 are already underway. We expect its prices to start from around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, pitting it against the Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
