Tata Ace Urban Transport Vehicle Goes Electric

Tata Motors has launched the electrified version of its Ace small commercial vehicle (SCV) called the ”Ace EV”. It is an environment-friendly transport solution for a vast variety of intra-city applications. 

The Ace EV is the first Tata vehicle that is powered by the brand’s new ‘Evogen’ powertrain that comprises a 27kWh battery pack and a 36.5PS/130Nm motor. It is claimed to offer a range of 154km on a full charge. The SCV has a cargo volume of 208 ft3 and grade-ability of 22%.

At its launch, Tata Motors has also announced that it will deliver over 39,000 units of the Ace EV to leading e-commerce companies and logistics service providers such as Amazon, BigBasket, City Link, DOT, Flipkart, LetsTransport, MoEVing, and Yelo EV.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors, said, “The introduction of the Ace EV marks a major milestone in our journey to deliver zero-emission cargo mobility in India. Building on our experience and success with electric buses, we have designed use-case-specific EV solutions for intra-city distribution. These solutions effectively cater to the application needs and deliver a superior value proposition to all stakeholders. We are much encouraged with the support and response received from our e-commerce customers, with whom we begin this journey of zero-emission cargo mobility.
