Jeep Meridian SUV To Be Revealed Tomorrow

Jeep is all set to unwrap the Compass-based Meridian full-size SUV tomorrow. Dealer-level bookings for the same have already been commenced ahead of its expected launch in May 2022. Here’s everything that we know about this upcoming full-size SUV ahead of its official arrival: –

Intro: The Jeep Meridian is essentially a three-row version of the Compass. It is already available for sale in Latin markets as Jeep Commander.

Size: Dimensionally, the Meridian is 4,769mm long, 1,859mm wide, and 1,682mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,794mm. That said, it is 364mm longer, 41mm wider and 42mm taller than the Jeep Compass.

Exterior: Design-wise, the Jeep Meridian borrows a bunch of styling cues from the larger Grand Cherokee and Compass SUVs. The notable design elements include the Jeep’s traditional seven slat grille, upright front & rear profile, LED headlamps integrated with LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps, chunkier wheel arches with body cladding all around, integrated roof rails, and connected LED tail lamps.

Key Features: Features onboard should include a 10.1-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Alexa and connected car tech, a 10-speaker 450W Harman Kardon sound system, digital driver’s display, powered front seats with ventilation, wireless smartphone charger, panoramic sunroof, multiple driving modes, and a powered tailgate, etc.

Safety Features: The safety kit is likely to comprise multiple airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and an Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS), which could further include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and blind-spot detection.

The oil burner could also receive an optional all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD).

Price: Expect Jeep to price the new Meridian SUV from around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4, Skoda Kodiaq, and Isuzu mu-X.
