Tata Altroz DCT Automatic To Launch On This Date

Highlights: โ€“

  • Tata Altroz DCA to go on sale next week.
  • Bookings are already underway.
  • Altroz DCA will be available in three trims.
  • Likely to command a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over their manual counterparts.

Tata Motors has announced to launch the DCT (dual-clutch transmission)-equipped automatic variants of the Altroz, dubbed as Altroz DCA, on March 21. Bookings for the same are already underway for a token amount of Rs 21,000. A new Opel Blue colour scheme will also be introduced with the hatchback on the same day.

For those who arenโ€™t aware, the Altroz DCA will be limited to three variants of the premium hatch, namely XT, XZ, and XZ+, along with their Dark Edition. It will be the first Tata car and second in its class to get a dual-clutch automatic transmission option (a 6-speed unit will be offered). As of now, only the Hyundai i20 comes with the DCT transmission option.

Powering the Tata Altroz DCA will be the 86PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Unfortunately, Altrozโ€™s 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 90PS 1.5-litre diesel mills have been skipped from getting the two-pedal convenience. They will continue to be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission only.

Besides the introduction of an automatic gearbox, no other changes will be made to the Altroz. It will continue to be packed with features such as auto projector headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, dual-tone alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, iRA connected car tech, automatic climate control, rear AC vent, a semi-digital instrument cluster, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a parking camera.

Tata Altroz DCA Automatic

Expect the Tata Altroz DCA variants to command a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over their manual counterparts, which ranges from Rs 7.49 lakh to Rs 8.79 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will square off against the Maruti Baleno/Toyota Glanza AMT, Hyundai i20 CVT/iMT/DCT, Honda Jazz CVT, and VW Polo AT.
