Globally unveiled in November 2020, the new Camry gets minor design modifications in the form of a new upper and lower grille, an updated front bumper, and new alloy wheels. The rear-end of the car remains largely untouched save for the slightly reworked rear lamp cluster. Besides, a new Deep Metal Grey exterior shade is also on the cards.

Inside, the 2022 Toyota Camry features a new 9-inch floating infotainment system with a faster operating system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, all-new premium Black color theme with Black Engineered Wood / Titanium Line Pattern inserts. It also gets updated Toyota Safety Sense features that include a pre-collision system, emergency steering assist, intersection turn assistance, automatic emergency braking, high beam assist, and full-range adaptive cruise control that works with road sign assist and lane trace assist.

The executive sedan doesn't get any update on the mechanical front. It continues with the ongoing 2.5-liter self-charging petrol-hybrid mill that makes out a combined total of 218PS and comes mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters. It can be driven in pure ICE / pure EV mode or a combination of both.

Toyota is likely to launch the new Camry Hybrid in India by the end of this month or in early February. Expect it to command a significant premium over the current model that retails at Rs 41.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will resume its battle with the Skoda Superb, BMW 2 Series, Mercedes A-Class Limousine, and Audi A4.
