Maharashtra Extends Early Bird Incentives On Electric Vehicles Till March 31

For those who aren't aware, the Maharashtra govt provides a basic incentive of Rs 10,000 on electric two-wheelers, and Rs 5,000 per kWh of the battery capacity of the electric-four-wheeler with a maximum incentive capped at Rs 1.50 lakh. These benefits are additional from the ones offered by the Central Government under the FAME II scheme.

The state authority has also exempted EVs from the road tax and renewal of registration certificates. The govt is aiming at a 10 percent contribution of electric vehicles to new vehicle registrations by 2025.
