Royal Enfield SG 650 Bobber Concept Revealed At EICMA 2021

Royal Enfield has revealed its SG650 bobber concept motorcycle at the ongoing EICMA 2021 show in Milan, Italy. Its production version is likely to be called the Shotgun 650, set to be unveiled in early 2022.

The styling of the new SG 650 bobber is quite engaging, featuring Royal Enfield's retro design with a few futuristic impressions all around. It gets a unique dual-tone brushed metal and black combo colour scheme with digital graphics. It also features chunky bikini fairing for the LED headlamps that will remind you of the CFMoto CL-X 700. The tail lamp and indicators also comprise LED units. The headlamp cowl covers the twin-pod instrument cluster with the smaller pod being the ‘Tripper’ navigation unit as the modern RE motorcycles.

The handlebar of the bike is flat & wide, complemented by chrome-finished bar-end mirrors. The round fuel tank and the cantilever floating-seat design along with the mid-mounted pegs and chopped fender give it a true American bobber appeal.

Powering the SG 650 Concept is the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. While the bikemaker is yet to share the engine specifications, we assume it to remain unchanged at 47.6PS and 52Nm.

Talking of the underpinnings, the SG 650 sports an inverted front fork, twin-shock rear absorbers, and fat Metzeler Roadtec 01 tires. It has dual disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the rear with a dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS) as standard.

Expect most of the design and features will make their way to the production-spec Royal Enfield Shotgun 650.
