Skoda Slavia – Design & Dimensions

The Skoda Slavia will be based on the highly-localized MQB A0 IN platform (95% of localization), which also underpins the Kushaq. Design-wise, the new Slavia looks quite elegant, featuring a more streamlined outline with a familiar butterfly front grille upfront with chrome slats, flanked by sleek LED headlamps that get crystalline detailing. The sharply styled front bumper along with a muscular bulge on the hood gives the sedan a vibrant demeanor.

From the side, one can notice its sloping roofline that smoothly merges into the boot lid. Then there are the flashy 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that complement its overall Octavia-like stance. At the rear, the sedan features split C-shaped LED tail lamps and a ‘SKODA’ inscription over the boot lid. Overall, the Skoda Slavia looks quite premium and will surely remind you of the Octavia and Superb.

Now, here's a look at its dimensions in comparison to its potential rivals: –

Skoda Slavia – Cabin & Features

The Slavia's interior is pretty identical to the global-spec Skoda Fabia, featuring a clean and minimalistic cabin design. It has a layered dashboard, finished in a black-beige theme adding to the premium appearance of the car. But what's most fascinating is the use of an orange strip running across the dashboard. It also gets a two-spoke steering wheel and rectangular air-con vents with a wide floating touchscreen infotainment system (probably of 10-inch) in the center. It will also be the first model in its segment to feature an 8-inch fully digital driver’s display.

Other creature comforts of the mid-size sedan will include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a single-pane sunroof, cruise control, rain & headlight sensors, etc.

Passenger safety will be taken care of by up to 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring system, traction control, ESC (electronic stability control) (standard), hills hold control, a rear parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX seat anchorages.

Skoda Slavia – Engine and Gearbox Options

Under the hood, the Slavia will employ the Kushaq’s 115PS 1.0-litre and 150PS 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engines. The latter makes it segment's most powering sedan that also features a first-in-segment cylinder deactivation tech for optimum fuel economy. Transmission options will include a standard 6-speed manual, an optional 6-speed automatic with the 1.0-liter, and 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic) with the 1.5-litre.

Skoda Slavia specifications

Skoda Slavia – Variants

The Slavia will be offered in three variants – Active, Ambition, and Style.

Skoda Slavia – Colour Options

Skoda will offer the Slavia in five colour options: Candy White, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, Tornado Red, and Crystal Blue.

Skoda Slavia – Expected Price and Rivals

Expect Skoda to price the Slavia between Rs 10.5 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and the successor model of the Volkswagen Vento.
