MG Astor Savvy With ADAS Launched At Rs 15.78 Lakh

MG Motor has introduced a new range-topping Savvy variant for the Astor SUV at a starting price of Rs 15.78 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Compared to the second-from-top Sharp variant, this new trim is up to Rs 80,000 more expensive and gets Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) as standard. Here's a look at its complete price list: –

With this, the MG Astor now is priced from Rs 9.78 lakh to Rs 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and has become the most affordable car to come with ADAS tech.

For those who aren't aware, the Level-2 ADAS features of the Astor comprises adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping/departure assist, pilot assist, high-beam assist, front collision warning, etc. Besides, the MG Astor also gets safety features such as up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, hill ascent/descent control, all four-disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, heated ORVMs, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake with auto-hold (CVT), and much more.

For creature comfort and convenience, it comes equipped with automatic LED headlamps, front fog lamps with cornering assist, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, rain-sensing wipers, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with i-Smart connected car technology, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, digital car key via Bluetooth, robot-head shaped personal AI-assistant, Hinglish voice commands compatibility, a panoramic sunroof, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, auto climate control with PM 2.5 air filter, rear AC vents, front & rear armrest, three steering modes (Dynamic, Normal, and Urban), height-adjustable driver's seat, etc. Click here for variant-wise features details. 

Talking of the powertrains, the Astor’s naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine churns out 110PS and 144Nm, while the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol motor produces 140PS and 220Nm. Apart from the 8-step CVT and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, the 1.5-litre petrol mill of the MG SUV also comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox with other variants.

Official bookings for the MG Astor will commence on October 21. However, interested customers can now pre-register themselves for its bookings. In the Indian market, the Astor locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Renault Duster, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
