2021 MG Astor SUV – Variant Details

The highly-awaited MG Astor has finally been launched in India at a highly competitive price range of Rs 9.78 lakh to Rs 17.38 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it is worth noting that these prices are introductory that will be applicable to the first batch of 5,000 units of the SUV. It is available in five variants and two engine options. Here's take a look at the engine specifications of the MG Astor SUV: –

* Style variant only comes with manual gearbox, whereas all other trims get both transmission options.

Colour Options

The Astor is available in five monotone color options – Spiced Orange, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White, and Starry Black. Its interior, on the other hand, can be spiced up with any of these three color schemes – dual-tone Sangria Red, dual-tone Iconic Ivory, and Tuxedo Black.

Verdict: – The price premium of Rs 1.5 lakh isn't justified considering the additional features it gets over the Style variant.

Verdict: – The second from the top Sharp variant of the Astor is loaded with all the whistles and the bells. However, in a very surprising move, the brand has missed out on the ventilation function for the front seats and auto-dimming IRVM.

Key Features (Over Sharp variant): – Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that comprises active safety features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping/departure assist, pilot assist, high-beam assist, front collision warning, etc. 

Verdict: – The top-spec Astor Savvy trim comes with all the features of the Sharp variant along with the Level-2 ADAS active safety features that detect nearby obstacles and driver errors, and responds accordingly. The Astor is the most affordable car in the Indian market to come with this technology. It will surely enhance your overall driving experience and make your journey more secured.
