Locally Assembled Mercedes-Benz S-Class To Launch On October 7

Mercedes-Benz has launched the 7th-generation S-Class (W223) in June 2021, with prices starting from Rs 2.17 crore (ex-showroom). Earlier, it was fully imported, but now it will be locally assembled at the brand's Chakan plant. With this, the asking rates of the luxurious saloon will significantly go down. Prices of the CKD Mercedes S-Class will be announced on October 7, 2021.

Mercedes may skip some of the S-Class features when it will be locally assembled. That said, the CKD version could miss out on the rear-axle steering and front seat massage function, whereas the 31-speaker premium Burmester 4D sound system could be replaced with a 3D Burmester system. Along with this, it is likely to get 19-inch alloy wheels instead of the ongoing 20-inch units.

Beneath the bonnet, the CKD S-Class will continue to feature the same 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options as its CBU counterpart. Here's a look at their specifications: –
