Similar to the Skoda Kushaq, the Taigun is also based on the MQB-A0 IN platform and comes with two engines options. However, the two SUVs have distinct designs. For starters, the Volkswagen Taigun features a twin-slat chrome grille upfront, flanked by a pair of LED projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. Apprehending the fondness for chrome of the Indian customers, the brand has also provided thick chrome strips on both bumpers. The other notable elements include dual-tone alloy wheels, connected LED tail lamps, and prominent black-plastic cladding all around the bottom edge of the SUV.

Talking about its dimensions, the new Volkswagen Taigun is 4,221mm long, 1,760mm wide, and 1,612mm tall. It has a segment's largest wheelbase of 2,651mm. The SUV offers 385-liters of boot space, which can be further increased to 1,405-litres by folding down the rear seats in a 60:40 ratio.

Volkswagen Taigun – Interior & Features

Inside, the Taigun features a minimalistic designed dashboard with silver/red inserts and an integrated 10.1-inch infotainment system. It also features an 8-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, ambient lighting, cruise control, a single-pane sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, automatic AC with touch-based control panel, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats (reserved for 1.0L variants), cooled glovebox, wireless smartphone charger, a 6-speaker sound system, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and much more.

Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold control, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic differential locking, traction control, and rear parking sensors with camera.

Volkswagen Taigun – Color Options

The Taigun is available in five color options: Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow, Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey.

Volkswagen Taigun – Engine and Gearbox Options

The Taigun is available with two turbocharged petrol engine options: – 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI. While the smaller capacity engine will be available with Dynamic Line trims, the bigger displacement unit will be exclusive to the GT variants. The 1.5-liter unit also comes with active cylinder technology (ACT) that shuts off two cylinders based on driving inputs to increase fuel efficiency. Here's take a look at their specifications: –
