Skoda Kushaq Will Be Recalled Soon Over Faulty Fuel Pump

Over the past few weeks, several Skoda Kushaq owners have reported issues with the EPC (Electronic Power Control) unit of their vehicle. And now, the Czech automaker has rectified the problem as a faulty fuel pump, and it may soon announce a voluntary recall to address the concern.

Responding to a tweet from one of Kushaq's owners, Zac Hollis – the director of sales & marketing, Skoda India, has stated that- "Yes, the dealer will contact you and offer to change to the more robust fuel pump. This will take place once dealers have enough of the pumps in stock.''

For those who aren't aware, the Electronic Power Control unit is a programmed ignition and engine management system. Any issue with this system can restrict the vehicle’s throttle. As a result, the car may feel lazy or can even break down. So, if you are getting the EPC warning light on your instrument cluster, contact your nearest service centre and get the problem fixed for free.

Skoda Kushaq break down issue

In the other news, the Skoda Kushaq has recently registered over 10,000 bookings since its launch on 28th June 2021. Riding on its success, the brand is also expanding its footprints in India with an aim to have 225 sales and service centres across the country by 2022. Furthermore, Skoda will soon be offering its Style automatic and DSG variants with 6 airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Currently, the Skoda Kushaq comes with two turbocharged petrol engine options (1.0-litre and 1.5-litre) across three trims: Active, Ambition, and Style. The 1.5-litre TSI unit is restricted to the top-spec Style variant only. The SUV is priced from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 17.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), rivalling the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Maruti S-Cross, Renault Duster, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, and the upcoming VW Taigun
