Hyundai Venue-rivalling Citroen C3 SUV To Be Unveiled On September 16

French carmaker Citroen has teased its upcoming sub-4m SUV for the very first time and announced its global unveil on September 16, 2021. It will be Citroen's second offering in the country and the first made-in-India product that is expected to be named ''C3''. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Honda WR-V.

The latest teaser gives us a glimpse of the front profile of the SUV. It gets the familiar Citroen design with a signature chrome grille that beautifully integrates the brand logo and daytime running lamps (DRLs). While the rest of the design has been kept under the wraps, the earlier leaked scale model images have already exposed the complete design of the Citroen sub-compact SUV. Going by the leaked images, the B-segment SUV will share its design cues with the bigger C5 Aircross. It will get an upright stance, dual-tone roof, plenty of contrasting shades on the body, and heavy cladding all over.

While the interior of the car is yet to be revealed, it is expected to be loaded with tons of premium features to separate it from the other offering of the segment. These could include a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, auto headlamps, automatic climate control, a premium sound system, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, along with Citroen's exceptional cabin comfort and magic carpet ride quality.

Since it will be a part of Citroen’s ‘C-Cubed’ (Cool, Comfort, and Clever) program, it will be a petrol-only offering. It is likely to be powered by a locally manufactured 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission. Rumors are also implying that this engine will also be compatible with flex-fuel as well.

Expect the second Citroen SUV to be priced at around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom).
