2021 Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid – What's New?

The biggest highlight of the 2021 RayZR 125 is the new hybrid system for its 125cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that now produces 8.2PS at 6500rpm and 10.3Nm at 5000rpm, that's 0.6Nm more than the previous version. On the other hand, the hybrid system of the updated RayZR 125 Fi essentially provides a power assist with the help of a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) that act as an electric motor (torque assisting motor) when you twist the throttle from the standstill, reducing the anxiety caused by the wobble during start-outs in tandem riding or during uphill climbs.

Besides the hybrid tech, the standard disc and Street Rally variants of the upgraded scooter also get a new LED headlamp and a fully digital instrument console, which now comes with the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X app that comprises features like Ride History, Locate My Vehicle, Hazard Lamp function, Answer Back, and Parking Record for added convenience. However, it misses out on turn-by-turn navigation assist, clock, and average fuel consumption indicator.

Yamaha RayZR 125 features

Apart from the above-mentioned additions, the scooter remains unchanged. That said, the RayZR 125 and its sportier Street Rally version continue to sport the same styling and underpinnings as their previous models. Besides, features like side-stand engine cut-off, silent starter, and combined braking system have also been carried forward.

In the 125cc scooter segment, the Yamaha RayZR 125 duo go up against the TVS NTorq 125, Honda Grazia 125, Suzuki Burgman Street 125, Aprilia SR 125, and Aprilia Storm 125. ,
