KTM 250 Adventure Price Cut By Rs 25,000, But There Is A Catch

Amid a hoard of price increments in July 2021, Austrian bikemaker KTM has chosen off the beaten track and slashed the asking rates of the 250 Adventure motorcycle by almost Rs 25,000. The bike now costs Rs 2,30,003 (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it merely Rs 1,276 more expensive than the 250 Duke (Rs 2.28 lakh). While it appears rather exciting, the massive price cut is just a special offer that can be availed for a limited period, starting from 14th July to 31 August 2021.

The reduced pricing indicates that Bajaj Auto intends to encourage the potential customers of 250 Duke to go for the Adventure instead. The reason for such a move hasn't been confirmed yet, but it could be due to its low demand in the Indian market. Earlier, the Bajaj has also decreased the price of Dominar 250 naked tourer by Rs 16,564.

For those who aren't aware, the KTM 250 Adventure was launched in November last year. While it shares its underpinnings with the 390 Adventure, its engine is the same 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit as the KTM 250 Duke. This motor generates 30PS of maximum power and 24Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch. However, it misses out on a quickshifter.

As for features, the KTM 250 ADV gets halogen headlamps, a fully digital LCD instrument console, split seats, windshield, dual-channel ABS, WP upside-down telescopic front forks, pre-adjustable WP Apex monoshock at the rear, 14.5 liters of the fuel tank, 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in MRF MoGrip Meteor off-road tires, etc.

This Austrian ADV doesn’t have any direct competitors in the Indian market. As per its pricing, it sits between Royal Enfield Himalayan (Rs 2.01 – 2.08 lakh) and BMW G 310 GS (Rs 2.90 lakh).
