Shortly after launching the Ranger Rover Sport SVR, updated Evoque and Defender 90, Land Rover has now introduced the facelifted Discovery in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs Rs 88.06 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new Discovery is available in two trims: Discovery and Discovery R-Dynamic – and three variants: S, SE, and HSE. However, their individual pricing is yet to be revealed.

Exterior
The upgraded Discovery gets some cosmetic changes, notably on the outside. At the front are the new LED headlamps with U-shaped LED daytime running lamps that also work as sequential indicators. The front grille and bumper have also been redesigned. Similar kinds of tweaks can also be seen on the rear of the SUV as well. However, it retains the Land Rover's trademark design including the clamshell bonnet, tapered roof, traditional C-pillar, and beltline.
Further, the R Dynamic trims will also pack sportier aesthetics with tones of contrasting black elements.
Interior & Features
Inside, it dons a newly designed central console giving it a more elite appearance. Featuring the interior are JLR’s new 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, a new steering wheel (borrowed from Defender), restyled air-con panel with touch controls, a more conventional gear selector (instead of rotary gear knob), and an updated 12.3-inch digital driver display capable of illustrating 3D maps layout. The brand also claims that its second-row seats have been improved for better comfort and enhanced posture for passengers.
Other features onboard include Apple Carplay & Android Auto compatibility for the infotainment system with over-the-air (OTA) updates support, connected car tech, Matrix LED headlamps, powered front seats with ventilation and memory function, electrically foldable second-and third-row seats, auto headlamps and wipers, PM 2.5 AC filter, a Meridian sound system, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, 360-degree parking camera, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, all-round parking sensors, adaptive dampers, air suspension and Terrain Response 2 traction modes, and many more.
Besides, the 2021 Discovery's kit also included an optional panoramic sunroof, heads-up display, hands-free gesture tailgate, and Activity Key with a built-in LCD enabling you to start and unlock the car.
Powertrain
