Maruti Suzuki Swift And All CNG Models Get A Price Hike

India's largest passenger car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of Swift and its entire CNG model line-up by up to Rs 15,000. Prices of the other models will be hiked in the near future. The brand has cited the increased input costs as the reason for the price hike.

In its filing at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the homegrown manufacturer has stated that: – 

With reference to our earlier communication dated 21st June, 2021, Maruti Suzuki India Limited today announced a price change for Swift and all CNG variants owing to increase in various input costs. Increase in Ex Showroom Prices (Delhi) is up to 15,000 INR on the above models. The new prices are effective from today i.e. 12th July, 2021. The price increase in other models is planned shortly and shall be intimated accordingly.

The new prices will come into effect from today. This is the third time that Maruti Suzuki has revised the prices of all its models after the hike in January and April 2021. However, the prices of the facelifted Swift have been hiked for the second time since its launch in February 2021. The variant-wise price lists of these Maruti cars will be updated soon. 

For those who aren't aware, Maruti Suzuki's current product folio comprises a total of six CNG models, including Alto, S-Presso, Ecco, Celerio, WagonR, Ertiga. The Indo-Japanese maker will also introduce the Dzire CNG in the coming weeks. 

Apart from Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra has also announced revised prices for its entire product range. Tata Motors and Honda Cars India will also be increasing prices this quarter.

In the other news, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the next-generation Celerio hatch by September 2021. Its unofficial bookings have also been commenced at select dealerships for a token amount of up to Rs 11,000. The carmaker will also launch the next-gen Alto and the much-awaited 5-door Jimny by the next year.
