Land Rover Defender 90 Is Now Finally Available For Sale

2021 Land Rover Defender 90 is now finally available for sale in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 76.57 lakh (ex-showroom). While the new Defender was launched in October 2020, it was only available for sale in the 5-seater (110 wheelbases) model till now. However, the prices and specifications of Defender 90 were already announced last year during the commencement of the bookings. Later, the prices were updated during its launch. Now once again, the British carmaker has revised the asking rates of the Defender SUV, making it more expensive than earlier. The brand has also silently introduced the new 3.0-liter mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine for both body styles. Here are the detailed pricing: –

Land Rover Defender 90 Vs 110

For those who aren't aware, the Defender 90 is essentially a shorter wheelbase version of the Defender SUV that comes in a 3-door avatar. On the other hand, the Defender 110 is a five-door SUV. Based on the D7x architecture, the Defender 90 measures 4,583mm in length, 1,974mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,587mm, making it 435mm shorter than the Defender 110. Another difference between both models lies in their seating configurations. The 3-door model comes in a 6-seat configuration (features a central jump seat in the front), whereas the 5-door model gets an extra third row with a total of 5+2 seating arrangement. However, the outer silhouette, cabin design, and features lists of both models are the same. Click here for details.

As of now, Defender 90 has no direct competitors in the Indian market. However, it can be seen as a niche 4×4 offering against Jeep Wrangler, which currently retails from Rs 53.90 lakh to Rs 57.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
