BMW M5 Competition Facelift Launched At Rs 1.62 Crore

Shortly after the launch of the upgraded 5-Series sedan, Bavarian Motor Works has now brought the facelift version of the performance-oriented M5 Competition to Indian shores at Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom), making it approximately Rs 7 lakh more expensive than the pre-facelift model. It will continue to be offered as a completely built-up (CBU) model.

The new M5 Competition draws power from the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 motor as the pre-facelift model that puts out 625PS and 750Nm. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission that transmits the power to all four wheels via an M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

On the performance front, the facelifted M5 Competition can achieve the 0-100kmph mark in just 3.3seconds, with the top speed limited to 305kmph. Being a high-performance Motorsport car, it also gets a retuned chassis, M-specific suspension, new shock absorbers (borrowed from the M8 Gran Coupe), active M differential, track driving mode, and bespoke engine mounting. All this leads to better performance and handling of the car.
