Former-Tata Global Design Head Pratap Bose Joins Mahindra Group

As we have reported earlier, the ex-Tata Global Design Head Pratap Bose has finally joined the Mahindra Group as the Executive Vice President and Chief Design Officer to lead its Global Design organization, which comprises of newly formed Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (M.A.D.E.) and the Mahindra India Design Studio (M.I.D.S.).

In Mahindra Group, Pratap Bose will supervise the design of all key business segments including SUVs, electric vehicles, LCVs, Last Mile Mobility (LMM), Large CVs, Peugeot Scooters (France), and Tractors and Farm Machines.

For those who aren't aware, Pratap Bose is an alumnus of the Royal College of Art, London, and National Institute of Design, India. He is widely known for his services in Tata Motors, where he has served for almost one & a half-decade and strengthened their passenger vehicle portfolio. Bose is credited for the attractive design of popular Tata cars & concept vehicles like the Tiago, Hexa, Nexon, Altroz, Harrier, and Sierra EV concept. He was also nominated for the World Car Person of the Year 2021. Apart from Tata, he had previously worked in Piaggio, Italy, and Daimler Chrysler, Japan.

Speaking about the announcement, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto, and Farm Sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., said-

We are at an inflection point in our Auto and Farm Sectors growth journey as we accelerate our transformative initiatives. Our robust pipeline of 23 new products that will be launched in the next five years would bring our design and advanced engineering capability across automotive, farm equipment, and two-wheelers to the fore. Having Pratap on the team will strengthen our design capability, enhance our products and widen our customer base. We are very excited to welcome him on board and look forward to writing a new chapter in Mahindra’s rich product legacy.”

In other updates, Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a total of 9 new SUVs by 2026-27, including the next-generation Scorpio, Bolero, XUV300, all-new XUV700, 5-door Thar off-roader, two new monocoque-based SUVs and two battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Click here for more details.
