Honda Motorcycles And Scooters Likely To Get Bluetooth Connectivity Feature

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has registered a trademark for the name ''Honda RoadSync'' in India. The RoadSync is basically Honda's mobile application for its premium range of two-wheelers that have the Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS). The feature comes as standard with its various global Honda models such as Honda Forza 750, Honda CB1000R, and more. Even the African Twin also gets the Apple Carplay & Android Auto support.

For people who aren't aware, the Honda RoadSync enables the riders to connect their smartphone to the Honda two-wheeler using Bluetooth technology and offers access to calling, messaging, navigation, and music on the go. Riders can toggle through the information using buttons on the left side of the handlebar. However, the rider requires headphones to fully access these features. Currently in India, the Honda H'Ness CB350 and CB350 RS comes with Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS) with Bluetooth connectivity.

While the premium range of Honda models will continue to get Voice Control enabled RoadSync, the smaller capacity Honda bikes & scooters are expected to be offered with a lowered-down version of this feature i.e. without voice control. It could get basic functions like turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alert, etc.

As of now, Honda's rival brands such as Hero MotoCorp, TVS, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Royal Enfield are already offering Bluetooth connectivity in their select products. Initially, Honda bikes and scooters with a digital instrument cluster/MID are expected to get this feature. These include Honda Activa 125, Dio DLX, Grazia 125, X-Blade, Hornet 2.0, and more. Honda can introduce this feature as either standard or as an optional accessory fitment. Both ways, the prices of Honda models could be increased by a significant margin.
