Hyundai Alcazar Interior And Other Design Details Revealed Through Official Images

Hyundai Motors has released a few sketches of the most-anticipated Alcazar, revealing some design details of the Creta-based upcoming 7-seater SUV.

Confirmed by the official images, the Alcazar will be available in 6-and 7-seating configurations with the former getting two individual/captain seats in the middle row along with a floor-mounted central armrest and some storage spaces in it. While the cabin layout of the Alcazar looks similar to the Creta, it gets a black & brown treatment (instead of a light color scheme).

On the outside, the Alcazar looks similar to the Creta till the C-pillar. However, beyond this point, it gets a few cosmetic upgrades to differentiate itself from its 5-seater counterpart. They include a new C-pillar design, rear-quarter glass, and a larger overhang to accommodate the third row. Further, it also gets newly designed alloy wheels.

At the rear, Alcazar sports a redesigned C-shaped split LED taillamps (eliminating the connected light bar), an upright & flatter tailgate, and a newly designed bumper with a silver skid plate. Though it is likely to utilise the same wheelbase as the Creta (2,610mm), its height and length would be greater than the 5-seater model.

The front-facia of the upcoming Hyundai SUV is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to shares most of the styling cues with its smaller sibling. Revealed by the earlier spy images, it will retain the split headlamp setup but it is supposed to get a tweaked front grille and bumper.

On the features front, Hyundai could offer the Alcazar with more comfort and safety features over the Creta such as front parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera, and a powered tailgate, etc.

Under the hood, the Alcazar is expected to be available with Creta's 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol (140PS/242Nm) and 1.5-liter diesel (115PS/250Nm) engines. Transmission options are also likely to remain unchanged – a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for turbo-petrol and the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the diesel motor. Hyundai is not expected to offer the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine available on the Creta.

The 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar is scheduled to be unveiled in the first week of April 2021. It is likely to be priced at a premium over the standard Creta, which retails between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 17.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, it will take on the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV500.
