BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Spied Testing Ahead Of Its April Launch

Waiting for the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross? Well, the Japanese carmaker is gearing up to launch the BS6-compliant version of the pick-up truck. Recently, it has been spied testing with minimum camouflage. It is expected to be launched by the end of April 2021. For the people not in know, all the Isuzu offerings were discontinued last year due to the mandatory update on the BS6 emission norms.

Going by the spy shots, one can notice the testing mule wearing a ‘Ddi’ badging on the rear which refers to its 1.9-liter diesel engine. Hence, it would be safe to assure that the BS6 D-Max V-Cross is likely to come only with only one diesel engine. The brand could discontinue the older 2.5-liter diesel unit. In the BS4 era, this 1.9-liter engine was used to produce 150PS of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque. It is likely to come with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options.

Apart from the engine update, no other changes are likely to be made to the D-Max V-Cross. It would continue to get features like LED headlamps, LED taillamp, alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, power-adjustable driver seat, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, and rear parking sensors, etc.

Expect the new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross to carry a hefty premium over the BS4 model which was priced between Rs 16.55 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). As of now, it doesn’t have any direct competitor in the market considering its off-roading capabilities, the Mahindra Thar could be considered as its alternative.
