Amazon India Ties Up With Mahindra Electric To Deploy 10,000 Treo Zor Delivery Vehicles

E-commerce company Amazon India has tied up with Mahindra Electric to deploy electric vehicles for deliveries within the country. For the people not in know, in 2020, Amazon India declared that its fleet of delivery vehicles will include 10,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by 2025 in India. In fact, Amazon has also signed a climate pledge to use 1,00,000 electric vehicles globally in the delivery fleet by 2030. So, this partnership is a part of reinforcing its commitment towards electric mobility.

As a part of this partnership, hundreds of the Mahindra Treo Zor have been deployed across seven major cities of the country, including New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore, and Lucknow. Commenting on the occasion, Akhil Saxena, VP of Amazon India said –

We are committed to building a supply chain that will minimize the environmental impact of our operations. The expansion of our Electric Vehicle fleet to 10,000 vehicles by 2025 is an integral milestone in our journey to become a sustainability leader in the industry. We continue to work with several OEMs to build a fleet of ‘Made in India’ electric vehicles that ensure sustainable and safe deliveries of customer orders, and this partnership with Mahindra Electric is a testament to our commitment.

About Mahindra Treo Zor 

Mahindra Treo Zor is an electric three-wheeler which was launched in October month last year. It comes with a 7.37kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired to an 8kW electric motor that generates 42Nm of peak torque. It offers a 550kg payload capacity with a loading height of 675mm. The Treo Zor delivers a claimed range of up to 125 km on a single charge and the battery can be juiced up to 100% in just 3 hours and 50 minutes in standard conditions.

The Mahindra Treo Zor comes in three variants: Flatbed, Pickup, and Delivery Van. Their prices are as follows: –

In the passenger vehicle segment, Mahindra is also planning to launch its first long-range EV, the XUV300 Electric. It could be launched later this year with prices likely to range between Rs 13 lakh to Rs 16.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
