2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan Will Launch Tomorrow – What To Expect?

Royal Enfield is all set to launch the most anticipated new Himalayan tomorrow. It is likely to get minor cosmetic updates, new body shades, and some additional features over the ongoing model.

The updated entry-level RE adventurer tourer motorcycle has been spotted many times during testing, and thanks to these spy shots, we have a fair idea of the changes that the model will feature. For beginners, the new Himalayan will get an additional pod on the right side of its existing semi-digital instrument cluster. This will be a tipper-navigation system, similar to the newly launched Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

Readers who are not aware, this is a Google-powered navigating system that shows the turn-by-turn navigation feeds and works with the Royal Enfield app that allows you to pair your smartphone to the system using Bluetooth. This feature will serve as a boon for enthusiast riders who love to explore undiscovered regions. However, unlike the other brand's connected tech, it doesn't show the incoming SMS/call alerts.

Besides this, the Royal Enfield has also revised the front metal frame position so that it did not hinder the rider's knees, which is a major issue for some taller riders with the current-gen model. The seat is also expected to be opulent with a dual-tone treatment and improve cushioning. Another change will be the matte black extension on the front mudguard and a top plate on the rear carrier. Furthermore, the 2021 Himalayan could also get three new paint schemes (Pine Green, Mirage Silver, and a new variation of the current Granite Black) with customization options.

The heart of the bike will continue to be the same as the existing model, i.e. the 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected SI motor that produces 24.31PS and 32Nm. No mechanical or hardware changes are expected, hence, the chassis, suspension, and braking systems are likely to be the same as the existing model.

With all these aforementioned updates, the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to be priced at a significant premium over the ongoing model, which retails at Rs 1.91 lakh (ex-showroom).
