Renault Kiger Spied With New Alloy Wheels Ahead Of Global Debut On January 28

Renault unveiled the concept version of its upcoming Kiger sub-4m SUV in November 2020, and now it is set to break cover on 28th January 2021. But before that happens, the higher & lower-spec models of Kiger have been spied together, exhibiting their wheel designs.

The above image exposed that the Kiger SUV will get five-spoke alloy wheels. In the same spy shot, we can also see a lower-spec variant showing the wheel cover design that will be provided with the Kiger. The test mule is also seen boasting the flared wheel arches as seen on the concept avatar. It also retains the upright stance from its concept with a Triber-like large grille and sharp looking projector headlamps with LED DRLs.

The Renault Kiger will share its underpinnings with the Renault Triber & recently launched Nissan Magnite SUV, and hence, it is likely to be as spacious as these cars. In terms of features, it is expected to be packed with equipment such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, a 360-degree camera, wireless mobile charger, tire pressure monitoring system, height-adjustable driver's seat, auto climate control, rear AC vents, keyless entry with engine start/stop button, multifunction steering wheels, and many more.

If reports are to be believed, the Kiger will be a more features packed offering than its Nissan counterpart. So, it can also bear to see some features that are not available with the Magnite. An electric sunroof could be one of them.

Like the Magnite, the Kiger will also be a petrol-powered offering only. It will be available with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated (72PS/96Nm) as well as 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol (100PS/160Nm) unit. While the former engine is likely to be paired to a 5-speed manual, the more powerful mill could also be offered with a CVT automatic along with the standard manual gearbox.

The Renault Kiger is expected to be launched in February 2021 with prices starting from around Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom). In the sub-compact SUV segment, it will take on the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata NexonFord EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Honda WR-V.
