Next-gen Honda Civic To Be Unveiled On 17th November 2020

Honda has released a teaser video of the next-generation Civic sedan and announced its global unveiling date, which is 17th November 2020. The teaser video reveals various design bits of the upcoming Civic & given us a fair sense that how the new iteration of this executive sedan will look like.

Something is Taking Shape

As the teaser suggests, the new Honda Civic will be more decent compared to the current version, which has several sporty and aggressive elements. The upgraded Civic gets a new slimmer front grille, less pointed headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, blacked-out allow wheels and horizontal C-shaped tail lamps instead of the current boomerang pattern. It is expected to be slightly bigger than the ongoing model so that it can offer more generous cabin space.

It is important to note that the model shown in the video is a prototype version. But its production version will be very close to it.

The Japanese brand hasn't shown the interior of the car, but it is likely to get a redesigned dashboard layout and advanced technologies & features. Honda has also declared that the new-gen Civic will be better in style, performance, features, and safety quotient.

Honda hasn't shared any mechanical details of the car. But it is likely to get a new turbocharged petrol engine, and if reports are to be believed, the new-gen Civic could also get a Honda i-MMD hybrid system with the new 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. Currently, the Indian-spec current-gen Civic is powered by a 1.8-litre petrol engine (141PS/174Nm), paired with a CVT automatic transmission and a 1.6-litre diesel (120PS/300Nm) engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
