TVS To Make A Boom With These Three Motorcycles

TVS is India's third-largest motorcycle company. It has a wide portfolio that includes everything from mopeds to superbikes. But there are still many categories in which TVS products are not available, and the Hosur-based brand is now planning to launch its bikes in these segments, which mainly include the mass-market 125cc commuter segment, cruiser segment, and adventure segment. But how can we say that? Well, this is because TVS has recently trademarked three nomenclature in India: Fiero 125, Zeppelin R, and Raider, which belongs to these prior mentioned segments respectively.

1. TVS Fiero 125

If you're a moto enthusiast, you would probably be familiar with the name Fiero. Yes, it was a 150cc motorcycle that was launched back in 2000 under its joint-venture with Suzuki. Currently, in TVS's line-up, only the NTorq scooter is available in the 125cc segment, and we believe the upcoming TVS Fiero 125 is likely to share the same powertrain but in different states of tune. We expect the Fiero 125 to launch in mid-2021.

2. TVS Zeppelin R

These days the cruiser space is in discussions as recently the segment has grown with new entrants such as the Jawa Perak, Honda H’Ness CB 350, and the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which is scheduled to be launched on 6th November 2020. Hence, TVS might also be planning to enter the segment, and in this process, it has trademarked the ‘Zeppelin R’ name, which originally belongs to the TVS Zeppelin concept, which was showcased at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. However, we cannot confirm anything about the launch as the brand hadn't made any proper announcement regarding this for so long.

The concept bike featured in Auto Expo was having a 220cc, single-cylinder motor and belt drive system. If TVS brings the Zeppelin concept to the production line, then perhaps it can be offered with another powertrain.

3. TVS Raider

TVS has also trademarked the 'RAIDER' nomenclature in India, and it could be used for the upcoming adventure motorcycle from the Hosur-based brand. Currently, no precise information is available about this, but it could be TVS's answer for the Royal Enfield Himalayan. And we should not forget that TVS has specialization in the Dakar rallying circuit.
