To celebrate the 4 million sales milestone, TVS has launched the 2021 Apache RTR 200 4V in India with many segment-first features and a new paint scheme. It is priced at Rs 1,31,050 (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price point, it is just Rs 1,000 more pricey than the current dual-channel ABS variant.

2021 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V – What's Special?

For this additional amount of Rs 1,000, TVS has offered some segment-first features with this new Apache RTR 200, such as three riding modes (Rain, Urban, and Sport), adjustable front suspension, and adjustable brake & clutch levers.

As per the names, the riding modes will optimise the bike's performance by varying the engine & ABS response. In Urban & Rain mode, the bike will assure the linear acceleration with a comfortable drive feel. The Urban mode will mainly focus on better fuel efficiency, whereas the rain mode will ensure the highest safety levels during braking, especially on low-friction surfaces like on wet or muddy roads. These two riding modes will also limit the bike's top speed to 105kmph.

The Sport mode, on the other hand, enables supreme performance with sharper acceleration in all operating ranges and a higher top speed of 127kmph. The ABS will be least interfering in Sport mode so that it doesn't create interference on course to get the most out of the bike.

Like the Apache RR310, the new RTR 200 also gets a dedicated ride mode selector to switch between these modes on the go. Besides the riding modes, the new Apache RTR 200 4V also features a segment-first adjustable race-tuned front suspension unit with hard and soft preload adjustment, which is sourced from SHOWA. Further, it also gets a three-step clutch and brake lever adjustability.

Engine Specifications

The 2021 TVS Apache RTR 200V's heart is a 197.75cc single-cylinder air-oil cooled engine, which churns out 20.82PS of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 17.25Nm of peak torque at 7250rpm in the Sport mode. The engine output further drops to 17.32PS at 7800rpm & 16.51Nm at 5750rpm in Urban and Rain modes.

The engine is still mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. However, the brand has introduced a Gear Shift Assist system which prompts the up & downshifts according to the mode selection. In Sport mode, the upshift is assisted at 8500rpm, whereas the downshift is at over 6000rpm. On the other hand, the Urban & Rain mode permit upshift and downshifting at 5500-6500rpm and over 3200rpm, respectively.
