Maruti Suzuki Offering PM 2.5 AC Filter With Its Selected Models

Environmental pollution is one of the most burning issues that our country has been facing for a long time. It takes a more formidable form every year as the winter season approaches. Maruti Suzuki has understood this problem and has introduced a PM 2.5 AC filter as an accessory for its selected models.

PM 2.5 filter for AC

Earlier, Maruti used to offer PM 10 filters in its cars, but the PM 2.5 filter is the need for the hour. It is priced at Rs 600, and you can purchase it from any authorized Maruti dealerships across India.

The PM 2.5 filters are considered more efficient in removing dust, smoke, pollen, and other particulates from the air. To be precise, it is considered up to 75% more efficient than the regular AC filters.

Maruti has stated that these filter needs to be replaced after every 10,000km or once a year, whichever is earlier. However, it also depends upon the environmental conditions and usages. The brand has also suggested some other conditions when you may need to inspect and replace the filter if required:

  • Poor ventilation
  • Insufficient cooling
  • When it takes a longer time to clean the mist from the windshield.

The PM 2.5 filter is available for both Arena and NEXA models including Swift, Dzire, Ignis, Baleno, XL6, Ertiga, Ciaz, and Vitara Brezza. Earlier, it was available for very few models, and that too, at a very high price.

Author's Take

There was a time when we all were struggling with air pollution, and then the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown came as a glimmer of hope for the country as it dropped the air pollution levels significantly in many metropolitan cities including Delhi NCR. And also, we cannot forget the moment when citizens of Dooba (Punjab) reported that they could see the snow-capped mountains of the Dhauladhar range from almost 200km away. But all those amusements were for short periods because as we are moving back to the normal life, the pollution again becoming an issue. Introducing more efficient air filters is a good move to prevent us from breathing bad quality of air, but we need to find out the ways to stop the pollution, and it's high time when we have to move towards cleaner technologies.
